75" tiles for Lucy's new Primstav series beginning with three spring designs for April

We cut them from a thin slab of clay and hand paint them with cobalt underglaze

Heavily reduced Gold glaze

They have five holes around the rim that can fit most toothbrush sizes as well as a center container to hold toothpaste

Gene and Lucy saw it first on a chest in the Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum

Quiver Vase Fjord Horse 75" tiles for Lucy's newFranz Richter worked with Gene in the studio in the early days of Tokheim Stoneware. He contributed the technique of rolling out a slab of clay and waiting for it to set up enough to keep a simple wrapped form. Gene did this vase shaped like a quiver, and added a decorative strip with a clay roller that Franz made for us. Oatmeal glaze with burnished clay. 6" height.
