It is in the shape of an ox (cow), one of the twelve animals in the Japanese zodiac (eto). It is white with red, gold and black small details. It has a white clay ball inside and a braided red string cord tied at the top. There are inscriptions on the back. Dorei bells have a long history and have been used in festivals and ceremonies since the Jomon period
