For two year prior to this the Colorado Rockies played at Mile High Stadium which is now the location of the parking lot next to Sports Authority Field. The reason why the opening gate was late in 1995 is not to allow time for the stadium to be complete, but due to the late start of the 1995 as a result of the 1994 labor issues in MLB.
