On one side, the bud still held closed: the sepals split and fall away as the crumpled petals begin to emerge. On the other, the flower in full revelation: the petals expand and smooth out during anthesis, reaching the stage where the bloom is fully open and the stamens and pistil are visible A duet of transition, vulnerability, and unfolding.
